Looking back at the tremendous success of our roundtable with Egypt’s IT Minister H.E. Dr. Amr Talaat organized by the EMA and the North Africa Middle East Initiative of German Business NMI! The Minister was accompanied by high-ranking representatives of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), Egypt and the Egyptian Information Technology Industry Development Agency, ITIDA

Moderated by EMA Secretary General Clara Gruitrooy, the discussion explored Egypt’s thriving tech sector, highlighting its proximity to European markets, competitive costs, and skilled workforce.
Experts, companies, and decision-makers engaged in a fruitful exchange on fostering greater German-Egyptian cooperation in digitalization, IT, and skilled workers

Special thanks to H.E. Dr. Amr Talaat for his valuable insights. The Minister highlighted the potential of the young Egyptian population and underlined the progress of eGovernance and offshoring in Egypt and the importance of data protection and privacy in the context of AI. His open and attentive approach created an atmosphere of genuine interest, allowing ample time for all questions and the participants showed great enthusiasm in engaging.

Special thanks also to our member SAP who did not only provide their Data Space café for our networking event but also shared their invaluable expertise with the audience.
