Cross-Culture Mentoring Program “Ouissal”
Duration: 2023-2024

The name “Ouissal” means “bridge” or “connection” in Arabic and perfectly reflects the essence of this German-Arab mentoring program. Initiated by the Euro-Mediterranean Arab Association (EMA e.V.) over ten years ago and now in its 5th edition, the program is supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), in cooperation with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and the Agency for Business & Economic Development (AWE).

The aim of Ouissal is to promote the economic and social participation of women in their home countries and their international networking. The program selects around 100 women entrepreneurs from Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, and Germany, who work together in tandems over the course of a year on the implementation of the mentee’s business plan or further business and career development. The mentors share their extensive knowledge and experience, support the ambitious mentees, and offer them guidance.

Material Purchasing & Supply Chain Management in Morocco “Connect Achat”
Duration: 2017-2023

Morocco’s economy stands out for its stable growth rates and low inflation. Nevertheless, the presence of German investors in Morocco remains limited. To close this gap, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, in cooperation with Sequa GmbH, is supporting the project “Materials Purchasing and Supply Chain Management for Industrial Companies in Morocco”. The project partners that implement this project are the German organizations Bundesverband Materialwirtschaft, Einkauf und Logistik e.V. (BME) and Euro-Mediterranean-Arab Association e.V. and the Moroccan organizations Association Marocaine de la Communauté Achats (AMCA) and Association Marocaine des Exporters (ASMEX).

The aim of this project is to strengthen the competitiveness of Moroccan companies and their international orientation. It creates a bridge between German and Moroccan structures and provides advisory services for German buyers, supply chain managers and logisticians. This project establishes an institutional network and sustainably promotes the Moroccan private sector, especially small and medium-sized enterprises.  Connect Achat is supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) through sequa gGmbH within the framework of a Business Membership Organisation Partnership (BMO).
