The EMA (Euro-Mediterranean-Arab Association e.V.) is a business association representing the German private sector with a broad range of services to promote sustainable economic cooperation with Arab countries. For our Berlin office, we are seeking as soon as possible:
Administrative & Financial Controlling Officer (f/m/d)
As an Administrative & Financial Controlling Officer, you will be responsible for the entire operational and strategic financial and office management. You will oversee our association and project finances, further develop internal processes, and advise the management on financial and administrative decisions.
EMA offers a centrally located workplace in Berlin, an open and collegial atmosphere within an international team, diverse and varied areas of responsibility, and the opportunity to contribute your own ideas. The advertised position is suitable for both part-time and full-time. Remote work (home office) is not desired.
Your main responsibilities:
- Strategic financial and project controlling including budgeting, liquidity planning, and use of funds
- Complete handling of grant funding (applications, contracts, financial reports, communication with donors)
- Management of internal administrative processes (e.g. document management, databases, member administration, HR)
- Maintenance of internal controlling standards and guidelines
- Collaboration with management on the strategic direction of the association
Your profile:
- University degree in business administration, financial management, public administration or a comparable field
- At least 5 years of professional experience in administration/finance – ideally in the non-profit sector
- Experience with public project funding (e.g. BMZ, GIZ, EU) and their financial reporting
- Knowledge in financial planning, liquidity management, and controlling tools
- Confident and independent working style, strong initiative, and entrepreneurial thinking
- Fluent German, good English skills (French is a plus)
