“Africa, That’s the Future” – H.E. Ali Aoun, Algeria’s Minister of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production. In the framework of the “Zukunftstag Mittelstand,” the annual congress for German SMEs hosted by our partner Der Mittelstand, BVMW and its Africa Alliance, our Secretary General Clara Gruitrooy as the board member responsible for North Africa, personally accompanied the minister and his delegation during his stay.
She facilitated a fruitful meeting for the Minister with Member of Parliament Dr. Karamba Diaby to discuss German-Algerian cooperation. They emphasized the important role of Algeria as a bridge to the Sahel region and Sub-Saharan Africa.
During a B2B exchange organized in the EMA office, His Excellency (together with the Algerian Ambassador to Germany, H.E. Larbi El Hadj Ali) met with our board members and representatives of German private sector companies, who addressed their concrete business cases and concerns. The Minister encouraged further investments in Algeria and stressed the important measures taken by the investment law to enhance investment security and opportunities. He warmly welcomed the interest in a variety of industries and sectors ranging from agriculture to energy, from machinery to petrochemicals and pharmaceuticals.
