From June 8-9, 2022, the 1st MENA Europe Future Energy Dialogue (MEFED) Conference will take place in Jordan. The conference will be inaugurated by Dr. Robert Habeck, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection & the Vice-Chancellor of Germany, and His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein of Jordan. It is a joint initiative of the Jordanian Ministry of Energy and the German Federal Ministry of Economy and Climate Protection (BMWK) and addresses high-level participants from politics and business from the entire Mediterranean and Middle East region as well as Europe.
The conference aims to deepen energy policy cooperation between the region and Europe. Current challenges and opportunities in the expansion and integration of renewable energy, green hydrogen, energy efficiency, financing, and new technologies will be the focus.
The program includes panel discussions and a high-level signing ceremony, as well as numerous side events around government-business dialogue (B2G).
Ministers and high-level political and private sector representatives from MENA countries and EU member states will attend the conference. Confirmed high-level speakers include:
