Strengthening Economic Partnerships with Iraq

The EMA, in close collaboration with Der Mittelstand. BVMW – German Association for SMEs, proudly hosted a high-level business delegation from Iraq at our Berlin office.

The delegation was led by HE Heider H. Jasim Al-Husseini, Deputy President of the Federation of Iraqi Chambers of Commerce (FICC), alongside leading figures from Iraq’s legal, trade, construction, and energy sectors, among them Al Muhamoon Al Mutahidoon Firm as well as the Iraqi commercial attaché in Germany, Ms. Rasha Al-Awadi, and the BVMW country representative for Iraq, Ms. Nisrin K..

The session was led and coordinated by Mr. Mamdouh Al Tajjar, Business Consultant at Clayston and official representative of the EMA President Dr. Thomas Wülfing, who steered the discussion with strategic clarity and diplomatic insight.

The discussion focused on financing of projects abroad. After an introduction of EMA’s vision for Euro-Arab economic collaboration and insights into legal, tax, and business development services for international ventures by CLAYSTON Law Firm, Dr Peter Lemke of LP Financial Advisory presented powerful financing solutions, including ECA- and DFI-backed funding models tailored for Iraq.

This gathering marked a key milestone in fostering bilateral cooperation and unlocking new opportunities for sustainable investment and cross-border growth.

The EMA remains dedicated to enabling actionable partnerships between Europe and the Arab world. Reach out to us to learn more about your opportunities in Iraq and beyond.
