Know-how transfer in the field of scrap tire retreading as a contribution to Cleaner Production in Morocco.

From November 24 to 30, 2013, EMA organized a delegation trip to Germany for Moroccan business representatives in cooperation with its member, the company Mülot Autotechnik. The program gave the high-ranking representatives the opportunity to take an in-depth look at the subject of tire retreading and the possibility of introducing such techniques in Morocco.

At the start of the visit program, the delegation was welcomed by Mr. Uwe Mülot, Managing Director of the Mülot company. The tire retreading technologies, the economic efficiency as well as the environmental benefits and the potential for Morocco were discussed.

On the second day, the 2nd Forum for the Maghreb organized by EMA took place in Berlin, to which the participants were invited. Thus they got further important contacts in Germany and in the Maghreb for their upcoming activities.

The general conditions for setting up a retreading plant in Morocco and the use of retreaded tires were discussed in further interesting talks with representatives of bus companies, manufacturers of tire profiles and a testing laboratory. The delegation was able to convince itself not only of the high economic potential and efficiency of retreading but also of the great advantage for the environment and road safety.
The reception at the Schwerin Chamber of Industry and Commerce was also particularly noteworthy, where the delegation was welcomed by Ministerialrätin Ms. Fischer and given a comprehensive insight into the activities and investment potential of the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

A meeting with representatives from the training center, the Chamber of Crafts and the professional association took place on the last day to discuss the possibility of introducing training or advanced training in the field of tire retreading in Morocco.

The various company visits and discussions were completed with an extensive social program.

The trip took place within the framework of the PPP project, which was initiated jointly by EMA with the company Mülot and the University of Rostock to enable the transfer of know-how in the field of scrap tire retreading in Morocco and in Egypt.
