Networking Reception in Egypt -Launching Ouissal’s Kick-Off Week
The OUISSAL Kick-Off in Egypt began with a networking reception hosted at the German Embassy in Cairo.
At the heart of the evening was connection. OUISSAL participants, partners, and representatives from different sectors came together to exchange ideas, share experiences, and build meaningful connections in a welcoming and informal setting.
The evening was attended by several distinguished guests, including Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Egypt, Mr. Jurgen Schulz, and H.E. Stefan Rouenhoff, Parliamentary State Secretary to the Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy. In their remarks, they highlighted the importance of international cooperation and cross-cultural dialogue in fostering sustainable economic development and supporting women’s entrepreneurship.
In her speech, OUISSAL founder Clara Gruitrooy reflected on the programme’s mission and the strength of its growing community, emphasising the importance of empowering women through mentorship, exchange, and long-term collaboration.
We were also honoured by the warm welcome and generous hospitality of Ambassador Schulz and Mrs. Sheila Stanton, to whom we extend our sincere thanks for hosting this special evening.
This first gathering offered a valuable opportunity for participants to connect ahead of the programme and set a positive and inspiring tone for the days to come, as workshops officially began the following day.
We would also like to extend our appreciation to Christian Kuhn and Miguel Haubrich Seco for their support in making this evening possible.
Finally, we thank the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, and the Agentur für Wirtschaft und Entwicklung for their continued partnership and support of the OUISSAL programme.
