As a complete success, the roundtable was hosted by the Emirate of Sharjah with about 100 participants and a top-class delegation. As a promising investment location with impressive goals and projects, the region presented itself to an interested audience of German entrepreneurs under the leadership of H.E. Marwan bin Jassim Al Sarkal, CEO of the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq).

Due to its ideal location, the Emirate of Sharjah has traditionally played an important role in the Gulf region as a hub for trade and logistics. With Sharjah Healthcare City, the emirate is currently making a name for itself as an attractive location for German companies in the healthcare sector. The expansion of the free trade zones and increased infrastructure investments have recently contributed significantly to the emirate’s rapid and sustained economic growth. In addition to the healthcare sector, the government’s support measures focus on the targeted development of industrial zones, further improvements to the infrastructure, particularly in the transport sector, the redevelopment and expansion of Sharjah International Airport, and the improvement of the energy and water supply.

The ambitious Emirate of Sharjah thus used an ideal platform to introduce itself to the highly interested audience of German entrepreneurs from various industries and to explain issues around the key topics of sustainability, construction, infrastructure and life science. During the subsequent lunch, the participants and guests took the opportunity to clarify final questions during intensive B2B discussions and to prepare the network for further business.
