The 2nd German-Moroccan Economic Forum

February 12-16, 2012

Casablanca, Rabat and Tangier

After the success in 2010, the EMA also gave companies from Germany the opportunity in 2012 to get to know the prospective developments of the Moroccan business location on site . The 2nd German-Moroccan Economic Forum from February 12 to 16, 2012 created the opportunity to obtain comprehensive information on investment and export opportunities and to establish or deepen contacts with business partners, renowned economic and political experts and decision-makers. With three stations in Tangier, Rabat and Casablanca, the economic forum was ideally integrated into the regional structures of Morocco. The meeting with high-ranking local representatives and stakeholders enabled a comprehensive insight into the regionally diverging priorities, interests and investment potentials as well as the urgently needed on-site networking.

The delegation trip was based on the following priorities:

  • Food Industries
  • Logistics and infrastructure
  • Water, the environment and renewable energies
  • Automotive and supplier industry

In addition, the qualities of Morocco as a location were put to the test: the legal framework for foreign investors, the establishment of offices and business practice in Morocco, the establishment of German-Moroccan joint ventures and, last but not least, government programs to promote foreign investors were scrutinized.

During the German-Moroccan Economic Forum, the delegation was able to exchange ideas and make valuable contacts with potential partners, experts and authorities in lectures and discussions at specially tailored conferences . There were also selected company tours. Receptions, B2B discussions and a cultural program rounded off the event.

The participants were given the appropriate opportunities to present their activities, projects and products to potential partners and to hold business talks that were individually agreed for them. Some of the EMA partners on site:

  • AMDI (Moroccan Investment Development Agency)
  • Ministries (industry, energy, foreign trade)
  • CRI Tanger, Rabat, Casablanca ( Regional Investment Centers)
  • Rabat (Moroccan Chamber of Commerce in Rabat)
  • CCIS Tangier, Rabat, Casablanca (Moroccan IHKs)
  • TMSA (Chief Manager of Free Port and Trade Zones of Morocco)

The direct insight into the current Moroccan market, the direct communication with potential partners on site and the broad local network of the EMA made the trip a success.
